Video – Smash Reset Control by Aftermath

Chicago based Progressive Thrash Metal Band AFTERMATH has released the official lyric video for “Smash Reset Control,” off of their upcoming LP, There is Something Wrong. Check it out here!

“Smash Reset Control lyrically and musically captures the angst millions feel daily. The system isn’t there to protect them or make their lives better. It’s really there to protect those with the real power. Not the puppets in Congress or the WH. The ones behind the scenes. Time to reset the power structure. The point of this track and the record is to expose the real enemy.” Kyriakos “Charlie” Tsiolis

Aftermath are a fast and heavy progressive/technical thrash band that hail from Chicago. They are a 4 piece with Kyriakos “Charlie” Tsiolis on vocals. Steve Sacco is on guitars, Ray Schmidt is on the drums and George Lagis is on the bass. Aftermath are one of the original crossover bands and really tore the thrash scene a new one when they debuted back in the 80s. You can see, in Smash Reset Control they still have plenty of angst and speed to offer too.

Aftermath

With lyrics that state things like “You Know Shit!. Fuck debate! Common sense has lost it’s way. Fuck the system. It’s a scam and you’re a fucking slave”. No holding back there right? It is a good song. It will be interesting to hear more from them and see where they fit in in modern metal. There is Something Wrong will be their first release since the 90’s. That is a long time out. Aftermath obviously feel the time is right to come back and tell us all exactly how it is.

There is no word on when the new album, There is Something Wrong is set for release though it will be via Zoid Entertainment. Post apocalyptic is my jam and I always have a book on the go and have for decades now. From a metal perspective, age has softened my inadequacies and I now operate with an open mind, loving many bands from many sub genres but having a particular admiration for the UK underground scene. In my other time, when not focused on Dad duties and work, I try to support the craft beer movement by drinking as much of it as I can and you will also find me out on the streets, walking.
