Emerging from the abyss, PUTERAEON unleashes ‘I Am The Darkness’, the first single and video – and the final chapter – of their Lovecraftian horror odyssey to be unleashed soon in the form of a new studio album.
A relentless fusion of old-school Swedish death metal and eerie melodic hooks, this track closes the album with fury – delivering a haunting yet crushing experience that echoes through the frozen wastelands of Lovecraft’s mythos. Mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö, “I Am The Darkness” solidifies Puteraeon’s legacy, marking a new high point in their brutal, atmospheric storytelling.
As the final descent into madness and despair, this song is both an ending and an invocation – a gateway to the void from which there is no return.
Puteraeon started out back in 2008 and have released four full albums and a couple of EPs in the past. The Swedish old-school death metal machine with members from bands like Taetre, Reclusion and Nominon, among others, have step by step descended deeper and deeper into Lovecraftian madness.
2025 marks the year for the fifth full-length album, to be announced soon, and expected to be a natural progression from 2020’s record ”The Cthulhian Pulse”.
