Ten Bands You Must See at Incineration Fest 2024!

Have you heard of Incineration Fest? Of course you have, it’s been going a while now, but just in case… let me explain. It’s an extreme metal one-day festival that takes place in the heart of Camden Town, London. Spread across four iconic venues, all within walking distance of each other, and featuring a wide array of bands from the world of black, death, doom, and more.

Start the day by grabbing your wristband at The World’s End opposite Camden Town station, then get ready for a day of extreme metal. Pick a venue (The Dev, The Black Heart, The Underworld, or The Electric Ballroom) and be ready to have your brain melted.

You can pick up tickets here.

This will be our fourth year attending, and we’ve had a blast each and every year. The line-up for the 2024 edition is so strong, that it seems likely we will have to miss some of our favourites. Even if there are no clashes between the Electric Ballroom and Underworld stages. How about you though? Not sure who you should be checking out? Leave it to us to give you some recommendations then. Here are ten bands we think you must see at Incineration Fest 2024.

Malediction – The Dev

The legends of UK underground death metal, Malediction aren’t just mightily beloved, but they’re very well respected. The Dev is going to be busy for this one, and for good reason. It’s going to be a riotous show, with a sea of head-bangers loving every bit of death metal that Malediction are forcing down their throats.

Corpsing – The Dev

Last time we saw Corpsing play live, they stole the show, so don’t be surprised if they steal it again in The Dev. Their blackened death metal sound is both garish and grim, but the refinement in their sound and their immense stage presence is captivating. They will be excellent again, mark our words.

Burner – The Black Heart

What a tear the blackened death and hardcore band Burner have been on in recent time. Having grabbed everyone’s attention last year with their debut full-length album, It All Returns to Nothing, they haven’t stopped playing live, and they are always impressive. For many, this might be the first band they see of the day, and chances are that Burner will set a very high bar. Bring some earplugs.

Wallowing – The Black Heart

Speaking of needing earplugs though, and of a band who has been simply unstoppable in recent times, it’s the sci-fi extreme noise of Wallowing. A band that needs to be seen live to believe, Wallowing are incapable of giving anything less than 100% and those new to their sound won’t know what hit them when they play. The entirety of the Black Heart is going to be shaking when they get on stage.

The Suns Journey Through the Night – The Black Heart

There’s a high chance that many may struggle to get into The Black Heart to see this band, such is the noise that surrounds them. Everyone is excited to see the raw and savage, but emotionally charged, black metal of The Suns Journey Through the Night, so get there early, otherwise you’re likely to miss out. This could very well the show of the entire festival.

Conan – The Underworld

Who doesn’t love a bit of Conan? The dirty doom sound they exude has been delighting many fans of heavy music for a long time, and they never disappoint live. The Underworld is the perfect stage to experience their cavernous sound, and they might end up being the heaviest band of the night, while not having frenetic speed.

FEN – The Electric Ballroom

One of several chances to be swept up in atmosphere, FEN’s brand of post-black metal is entrancing stuff and live, they have the ability to transport you elsewhere.

Winterfylleth – The Electric Ballroom

Ditto to Winterfylleth, whose English-heritage black metal sound has made them one of the countries most beloved bands. Chances are, if you’ve been listening to the more extreme side of metal, you’ll know this band and maybe even have seen them before too. That means you know how good they are live. The Electric Ballroom show stealer, potentially.

Carpathian Forest – The Electric Ballroom

The legendary Norwegian black metal band Carpathian Forest are in town, and for many, this is the must-see of the entire day. No frills black metal, the world is going to seem that little bit darker when they take to the stage. Now, doesn’t that sound like fun?

Anaal Nathrakh – The Electric Ballroom

The band that will likely have the most intense pits of the entire day, and not just because of the bigger crowd in the Electric Ballroom. It’s Anaal Nathrakh, they play extreme metal, and wreck everyone when they play live. This might be when the Electric Ballroom is at its busiest, and for good reason. It’s going to be an unmissable show.
