EP Review – Guilty by Sertraline (Self Released)

Another band to grace the New Blood stage at Bloodstock Festival 2018 were Sertraline. Sertraline are from the Leeds/Manchester area and they released an EP called Guilty back in March 2017. One of heavy metal icon, Max Cavalera’s longest running bands, Soulfly, have released the first single from their incoming new album. That single is called Evil Empowered. Evil Empowered will feature on the band’s 11th studio album, Ritual, which is set for release on the 19th of October via Nuclear Blast.

South Dakota based hardcore/punk metallers, Earth Groans, released a new EP on the 3rd of August called Rahab via Solid State Records. The American band have only existed for a few years, forming in 2015 when founder Jeremy Schaeffer felt a need to get involved in the hardcore music scene. A genre he had always felt passionately about.

Having officially broke up around 2009, they reformed a few year slater but, other than a handful of one off shows, there was no real output. No music, no tours until recently.

American progressive metallers, Between the Buried and Me, have released the second part of their two album concept in Automata II. The first part, Automata I, came out in March this year and was an album I really enjoyed for it’s creativity and strong story mixed with powerful, sombre and melodic music.
