Benthos – Let Me Plunge
The wait is almost over: Italian quintet Benthos are unveiling with ‘Let Me Plunge’, the next and last puzzle piece from their upcoming album ‘From Nothing’, which will be fully released April 11th, via InsideOutMusic. Focusing on themes of self-discovery and transcendence, the single captures the intense journey of breaking free from inner turmoil through an energetic progressive piece, furthermore establishing Benthos’ unique sound.
Says the band:
This track might surprise you–a taste of the album’s diversity, where we go beyond the heavy intensity you’ve come to expect from us. With Let Me Plunge, we want to show you yet another side of our musical landscape; an emotional texture that permeates From Nothing throughout, with vintage tones and bittersweet melodies. The song expresses the inner turmoil that burns inside us when chasing our deepest ambitions, the will to listen to our voice and surrender ourselves to them.
The rise of Benthos continues with mighty aplomb, and chances are, you’ve already heard enough to be thoroughly convinced that this new album is going to be immense. Well, just in case, here’s another absolute delight, except this is one unlike anything else heard so far. Benthos at their most melodic, delivering vibrant shifts that showcase their experimental ways stylishly, but with plenty of intensity too. It’s a challenging listen, but a fascinating one.
Calvaria – The Serpent Lies Within
Bristol-based melodic metal band Calvaria have released their long anticipated new single ‘The Serpent Lies Within’. The track explores the internal battle with self-destructive tendencies, illustrating the struggles of being one’s own worst enemy. Using religious imagery, the serpent serves as a metaphor for the mind, leading the body down a path of self-destruction and neglect.
An energised head banger with big riffs, thumping drums, and soaring vocals, Calvaria turn the clock back to the noughties and deliver a rousing groove-infused metalcore-based listen. It’s a very easy track to enjoy, especially as it’s filled with so much power and liveliness, giving it a modern and fresh feel. Check it out here.
Melting – Into the Suffer
Metal outfit Melting, self-described as sonic aggression made in Melbourne, recently announced their signing to Greyscale Records. now, the band announce their debut EP ‘You Exist Because We Allow It’ out Friday May 2 via Greyscale Records with the new single ‘Into the Suffer’ teasing what’s still to come.
A passionate outburst of eye-watering and ear-bleeding heaviness that elevates the bar for modern intensity in metal. Melting bring a whole new level of noise here, but layer in effective ‘post-like’ elements here and there to give it a more genre-bending feel. It has got an inherent violent streak running through it, but as encouraging as that is, it’s also a track you want to give all your attention to. Check it out here.
Reckoner – ifailme
Midlands post-hardcore outfit Reckoner have shared their emotionally charged new single, ‘ifailme’, alongside its captivating music video. Capturing the raw emotional weight of self-loathing and the inevitable stumble into failure that many of us feel but rarely express.
Shares vocalist Phil Sparks:
Lyrically, ‘ifailme’ dives into the human condition, grappling with themes of comparison and inadequacy. Lines such as ‘All my friends are strong, I’ll never be like them’ strike a nerve, drawing on the danger of measuring oneself against others.
‘ifailme’ is an anthem for anyone who’s ever felt overwhelmed by their own failures. The song’s explosive finale is more than just a musical crescendo – it’s a cathartic release of angst & self-doubt.
Offering up a sincere showcase of alternative melody and experimental intensity, Reckoner dig down deep to express themselves here. Delivering a poignant and raw listen that has a strong sense of drama, but one that comes from a real place. It’s inventive, and blows up impressively right at the end.
Prompts – Stranger (feat. Landon Tewers of The Plot in You)
Established as one of metals most exciting up and coming acts, Japan-based metalcore outfit Prompts release their first single of the year, ‘Stranger’ featuring Landon Tewers of The Plot in You, streaming everywhere now via Greyscale Records. The track is about feeling torn between two personalities, and not knowing which version is real.
A blistering explosion of metalcore noise that is as heavy as it is anthemic, and trust me, it’s stupidly anthemic. This is the stuff that elevates the genre and the scene, especially when it involves an inspired collaboration. The verses are mental, the chorus soars, the breakdown is stupidly good, and the final part of the track adds a whole new dimension to it. A very special listen. Check it out here.
De’Lour – Echoes & Empires
De’Lour, the the South Wales based riffers have released their latest single ‘Echoes & Empires’. A track that sees the band warning of history repeating itself and the future leading to the same tragic outcome.
Explains the band:
The meaning behind the song ‘Echoes & Empires’ is about history repeating itself and trying to rebuild on a foundation that has already failed. You try again and again with the same outcome, only to realise each time you drag someone else into this cycle which needs to stop.
Musically, ‘Echoes & Empires’ is a blend of heavy riffs and melodic hooks, with a slight discordant twist. The track features our soaring choruses and driving rhythms that we’ve become known for, whilst showcasing our evolution as a band. The song has a blend of nu-metal influences mixed with rock, creating a dynamic sound that balances introspective lyrics with powerful riffs. We feel fans of both genres will find something to connect with here.
Utilising dramatic melody to give the track a more emotional feel, De’Lour showcase a wide and developed musical palette with this sensational single. A powerful showcase of heavy rock rhythms, twisted by flashes of groove, featuring an anthemic chorus, and putting so much focus on the vocals, but for good reason, as they’re immense. Check it out here.
Not Enough Space – Devil Left Me on Read
Floridian quintet, Not Enough Space, have released their new single, ‘Devil Left Me on Read’, via Thriller Records. The track is a gut-punch of raw emotion and sonic chaos that plunges deep into the mind of someone grappling with intrusive thoughts and unanswered confessions.
Speaking of the song, the band share:
Our new single, ‘Devil Left Me on Read,’ is the our heaviest release yet, drawing influences from Suicide Silence and The Black Dahlia Murder to capture a fresh yet nostalgic deathcore sound. The lyrics illustrate the seven deadly sins—greed, envy, wrath, lust, sloth, gluttony, and pride—and how negative thoughts and past mistakes can lead to becoming one’s own worst enemy.
Beastly. This is a track that starts off hot and doesn’t cool down for a second. Delivering pounding and punchy heavy beats, with gaudy effects and guttural vocals. It’s laughably intense, deathcore 101, but with such addictive qualities. You’ll inevitably fall in love, especially as it even has some good old fashioned ‘brees’!
Diamond Construct – Deathparty
Enigmatic modern metal monsters Diamond Construct have announced they’ll release a deluxe version of ‘Angel Killer Zero’, out Friday March 21st via Greyscale Records & Pale Chord. The band have shared the new single and video for ‘Deathparty’, one of three new songs off the deluxe version.
An album well worth expanding on, and as one of the three new songs, this is going to be a firm fan favourite. All because of the sinister feel it has, and how that transforms into such a dangerous sounding listen. The tension in this track is thick, but it’s also something you can well and truly let loose to. Check it out here.
Face Yourself – Predatory
Transcontinental deathcore collective, Face Yourself have announced their brand new EP ‘Martyr’ is set for release on 18th April via Sumerian Records and raises the modern deathcore bar to an unprecedented level. Punctuating the news is their blistering new single ‘Predatory’ which offers a brutal yet haunting exploration of trust and betrayal, diving deep into the dark undercurrents of vulnerability and self-preservation.
Speaking on their latest single and upcoming EP, the band shares:
Face Yourself is proud to release our newest single ‘Predatory’, alongside the announcement of our new EP ‘Martyr’ via Sumerian Records. ‘Predatory’ is based on a modern story with some metaphoric images. It’s about going to a dance with a stranger and quickly finding yourself in a dangerous situation. ‘Martyr’ explores struggles through difficult mental health battles. The lyrical content on the EP is based on vulnerability, and confronting your own demons. The record flirts between standing up for yourself, but also getting back to this dark place, as no one has a perfect linear mental health. Sometimes it takes a few trials to heal old wounds.
With our producer Joey Sturgis, we tried to translate the theme through the impacts, melodies, vocals, making those emotions loud.
Savage. That’s it. That’s the review. You don’t need to know anything else, but sense dictates that I have to explain why I use that word. It’s simple. I use it because this is a manic expulsion of noise, deathcore at an intense level, but given a modern feel with frenetic effects that make its heavy focus even more obnoxious. The guitars, the drums, the vocals… every part of this band is hostile sounding. One of 2025’s most savage releases.
Underking – The Isle of Crooked Stone
Inspired by fantasy, sci-fi, and the heavy metal greats, Underking delivers a decidedly epic blend of emotive rock and high-octane traditional metal. The solo act composed of multi-instrumentalist Maxwell Jeffries, has released the brand-new single, ‘The Isle of Crooked Stone’ – a DnD inspired, melodic track.
A creative head banger with epic vibes, you don’t need to like (or even know) DnD to understand or feel the fantastical nature of this track. A track based in heavy metal, but with a sprinkling of power and hard rock, evident by the soaring chorus that fills the heart and soul with warmth. Check it out here.
Dinosaur Pile-Up – ‘Bout to Lose It
Overcoming life-threatening illness and finding a fresh perspective on real priorities, Dinosaur Pile-Up roar back from the brink with their new single ‘Bout to Lose It and announce their signing to Mascot Records.
Five years of pent-up emotion – hope, despair, resignation and colossal bravery – and you can feel it. Welcome back Dinosaur Pile-Up, and what an absolute banger to come back with. A passionate outburst that has that distinctive Dinosaur Pile-Up sound. Which, if you know this band, guarantees one hell of an anthemic time. They’ve not missed a beat, and this is such a catchy tune. However, that it comes with so much feeling, so much importance, is what makes it so damn special.
