Single Slam: Backbone by Jon Haggerty
Following on from his debut album, Selective Hearing released last year, acoustic indie-rock/pop artist Jon Haggerty has now released a brand new single entitled ‘Backbone’.
“Life can be hectic, but everything happens for a reason,” says Haggerty. “We constantly strive to be better for ourselves and for those around us. Sometimes all you ever needed is to have a little more backbone.”
Credit to Jon Haggerty. His new single ‘Backbone’ is a touching and warming song designed to bring hope to those in need. A sweet track that sends out positive vibes in all directions.
Acoustic indie-rock/pop, it’s so easy for a band or artist to say their song is heartfelt. It’s quite another to show us that, something Jon Haggerty does across the 3 and a half minutes of Backbone.
As Jon himself says, life can be hectic. Especially modern life and it is no surprise that it can get too much for some. Backbone is a chance for those to take a deep breath, sit back and close their eyes for a few minutes and lose themselves in it.
It’s safe and that’s not something that really excites us here but we can acknowledge the meaning behind it. The song is maybe a little too ‘coffee shop/hipster bar’ for our liking but it is something that leaves us with a positive feeling.
