Collectable Review: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (The World Of The Witcher)
Woah! It sure has been a while since I last did one of these but just you wait and see what I have in store…..
Have you ever heard of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt? That’s obviously a pretty stupid question and rightfully so, the game is absolutely sensational. If you’d like to read more of me simply gushing over the game then read my review on the site!
Upon the release of the game, Dark Horse Comics shipped the limited edition boxed set of The World of the Witcher, CD Projekt Red’s “essential” companion to The Witcher series, complete with clamshell case, an art print and a secret compartment containing several enamel pins. This is absolutely essential for any fan of the Witcher lore and any art fan in general. An absolutely huge thank you to my girlfriend and fellow GBHBL creator, Fleshmechanic who bought it for me.
Just to give you an idea of how huge the case is but not to mention heavy! This thing could be used as a highly effective blunt weapon. The leather case is embossed with the sign of the School of the Wolf, where many enterprising young witchers learn to kill.
Opening the case reveals the wonderfully designed interior as well as all the wonders within.
From the official description: “Dive deep into the world of monster hunters, as prominent characters from The Witcher take you on a guided tour of the fascinating dark-fantasy adventure.” The World Of The Witcher Compendium is full of so much beautiful concept and game art that I’m just going to have to post a few photos of some of my favorites but it’s genuinely hard to choose, check these out!
Okay, I’ll stop now. But wait, there’s more! There’s a really cool secret compartment that contains six enamel pins that represent Geralt’s witcher medallion and the magical signs witchers can use in combat.
Finally, there’s a fabric folio that contains an awesome limited edition print!
One final example of how huge this beast is…
What do you think? Pretty great huh.
