My Favourite Video Game Featuring: DiipSilence
My Favourite Video Game is a guest feature from bands and artists where we set them a simple task… tell us about your favourite video game. In this feature, electronic music artist-producer DiipSilence took up the mantle, and you can read all about his choice below.
First of all thanks so much for having me here! This is DiipSilence, an electronic music artist-producer base in LA.
My favorite video game is definitely Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but the game that I put the most time in is Fire Emblem: Three Houses, by far it’s my favorite SRPG game.
Not only because of the strategy side of Three Houses, but also because the character design and the story structure are attractive. To get the whole picture of the story, the player needs to complete all four lines of the game. I played 7 times of the game but each time I know more of the storyline. Since different team members can have different support dialogues, I get different sides of the three kingdoms each time. Even if you choose the same route, you can have different members since you can invite other house’s students. So each time I always get some new information about the whole picture.
The strategy side is certainly easier than the earlier versions of Fire Emblem, but the teaching system for me is the most fun. Teaching students differently and changing the same character to different occupations each time, made the game much more playable. Personally, I’m a Golden Deer route which can get the whole picture of most of the game. But the Blue Lions route and the Black Eagles route are also so much fun. The story setting is influenced by the Chinese novel ‘Romance of the Three Kingdoms, which is one of the four great classic Chinese novels, I’m a big fan of this novel as well.
Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes was announced this February, I’m so interested to see how those characters in an SRPG game can be played in a “warrior mode”.
