This is a hard one, I’m a big big fan of the 80’s Horror icons, Freddy, Jason, Pinhead BUT after saying that my favourite Horror flick has to be my first foray into horror films; The Blair Witch Project was sold to me in my youth as an actual found footage tape, AND BOY… I bought every psychological bite of it! Don’t get me wrong Slashers and the like can be fun as hell to watch, but the found footage has got to be one of my favourite sub genres.

There’s something raw about the shaky cam films that add an air of realism to help suspend disbelief but none of them have ever topped the tension and unease I first felt whilst watching the original Blair Witch, it was something else, it didn’t need any music, stingers and crazy jump scares or amplified gore to do it either, the ending was so jarring to me in my first watch just because of the suggested horror I was sitting on the edge of my seat.
