Music News: Thirteen Stars Premiere New Single & Video ‘Mint Jelly’
Featuring wild west desperados, voodoo priests, and moonshine dealers embroiled in side way gambling, ‘Mint Jelly’ channels the inner spirit of the Rolling Stone’s classic ‘Exile on Main Street’. Embracing a sensational brass section, this new song by Thirteen Stars describes a crazy life of misdeeds and debauchery, with lyrical inspiration for the song courtesy of Grampa Simpson (“Call me mint jelly cause I’m on the lam(b)!”), tongues are firmly planted in cheeks.
Taken from their forthcoming new album ‘Finest Ramshackle Jam’ (more details coming soon) , ‘Mint Jelly’ was recorded at Doncaster’s Axis Studios (Terrorvision, Massive Wagons, Black Spiders) and engineered by Matt Elliss, with co-production by Elliss and Hoss Thompson (band frontman/guitarist). With mastering by Geoff Pesche (Page & Plant, Therapy, The Divine Comedy) at Abbey Road Studios; ‘Mint Jelly’ captures Thirteen Stars in fantastic form following the release of their previous single, the Tom Petty inspired ‘Running So Long’.
