Music News: Self-Styled “Gothic Folk’n’roll”-Ers Cadence Noir Release Their Brand-New EP ‘Return Of The Electric Bin Bags’ – 24th June 2022
Cadence Noir return in June 2022 with their 4th release, ‘Return of the Electric Bin Bags’. The EP is named after a close friend of the band’s affectionate description of Adrien and Emma’s penchant for stagewear in shiny black fabrics he refers to as ‘Bin Bag’.
Featuring 5 tracks all penned during the joy that was 2020, this EP represents the first release in the bands now 11-year history to feature entirely new material.
Statuesque reflects on the global events preceding a certain statue being hoofed into Bristol Harbour. The Donkey and The Elephant is one for our friends over the pond who, not to be outdone by a global pandemic, still insisted on furthering their own internal epidemic of gun violence. Black and Decker is inspired by binge watching during lockdown. Something Something Nuclear War is the band’s attempt at a thrash metal song because reasons, and finally Washing Up reflects on the utter entitlement of society and its worrying nonchalance to an ever-rising Covid death toll.
Recorded live at the band’s studio in May 2022, this EP is possibly the closest the band have managed to emulate their live performance, as well as showcasing their ongoing collective failed attempt to pick a genre.
Return of the Electric Bin Bags EP will be available via CD/download/stream on June 24th 2022!
