Music News: Leaving Eden release new album ‘The Agony of Affliction’
Leaving Eden, a Boston-based hard-rock band have released their new album, The Agony of Affliction (DARKSTAR RECORDS\SONY) on August 9, 2019. The 7th studio release by this multi award-winning, female-fronted powerhouse of a band, features the incredible vocal spectrum and range of lead vocalist “Eve.”
The Agony of Affliction contains a minefield of compositional ingenuity infused with the spirit of hard rock. Showcasing ten bold pieces of precision songcraft, Leaving Eden weaves a dynamic tapestry of organized chaos and unbridled harmony throughout the album. The mixed pacing of “Pacing Dogs” sets a lingering, dramatic tone for everything that follows as the band escorts waves of heavy melody through tuneful bursts of vibrantly crunchy guitar.
From “Deep” ballads with tender harmonies to post-punk “Pothead” party songs; From the anthemically thick axe on the title track to their whimsical take on Aha’s “Take On Me,” Leaving Eden is a sound decision indeed. Marrying the intensity of technique with unmoored experimentation, The Agony of Affliction flirts with ferocity and delivers the masterstroke of catchy hooks, sharp starts, and ambitious riffs plucked directly from the Tree of Knowledge.
Co-founder Eric Gynan’s skill-set as an accomplished writer and exceptional guitarist is the formidable rock upon which Leaving Eden is built. Having worked with the likes of Johnny K. (Disturbed, Megadeth, 3 Doors Down) and Brad Blackwood (Korn, Evanescence, Three Days Grace) has only helped further Gynan’s own uncompromising production chops. Along with Alyssa White on keys, as well as bassist David Amato and drummer Jake Gynan’s backbeat rhythm from the subterrane (to paraphrase Steven Tyler, with whom they once shared a stage and an engineer (Bob St.John (Duran Duran, Extreme, Collective Soul, and Steven Tyler) in communion with “Eve’s” piercing of the upper registers with her signature soprano, Leaving Eden is an effervescent blend of musical brains and brawn, through and throughout. Singing never sounded so good!
Having shared stages the world-over with hundreds of the biggest names in the music industry, such as: Black Sabbath, Rob Zombie, Godsmack, Halestorm, Alice in Chains, Queensryche, and many more, it should surprise no one that Leaving Eden recently inked a world-wide deal with Dark Star Records, in association with Sony Music. Their catalog is also being featured in several upcoming and recent films. In fact, Eric Gynan explained, “We are excited about this new album, not only because of the production value, but the entire album will also be featured in a new fake reality comedy movie, titled “The Nitwit,” which will be released in 2020.
The CD, The Agony of Affliction, along with their entire catalog, is now available at Amazon and on Google Play, Spotify, and ITunes for digital download. Much like sinking your teeth into a Red Delicious – one bite and you’ll be hooked!
