Leprechaun’s Appearance And His First Victims
A mysterious stranger with one hand, one eye, and one leg sells a leprechaun statue to a pawn shop owner, Gupta. The figure has a golden medallion that the stranger warns him not to remove. He ignores the advice by taking the medal for himself, and immediately, the statue transforms into a psychotic Leprechaun who vows to kill anyone in possession of his gold. Gupta becomes his first victim and is strangled to death using a phone cord.
Scott McCoy is a college kid on his way to California, excited about seeing Vegas for the first time. He falls for a cocktail waitress and aspiring magician, who sneaks him into the Lucky Shamrock Casino where she works. Scott tries to gamble but loses all his money at the Roulette wheel, so he goes to sell his Rolex at a pawn shop for quick cash.
There, Scott finds the owner’s lifeless body, and while calling the police, he unwittingly takes Leprechaun’s lucky gold coins that grant a wish to its finder. A computer on the counter next to him states in folklore that one wish can permanently give a mortal anything he or she desires. After hearing this, Scott sarcastically wishes for a winning streak and is transported back to the casino by the coin’s magic.
Before long, Leprechaun shows up to claim the gold coin and bites Scott. He throws Leprechaun out of the hotel window, but in the process, some of Leprechaun’s green blood spills into Scott’s wound, which turns him into a green-skinned, Irish-lilting, grown-up Leprechaun. Meanwhile, the homicidal Leprechaun survives the fall and continues to kill every poor sucker who dares to touch his gold coins.
Leprechaun Kills Three Casino Employees
After striking it rich at the casino, Scott is robbed by casino employees Loretta and Fazio. They take turns to pass the coin among themselves, obviously unaware of the impending danger. Loretta wishes for a new body, Fazio wishes to be the greatest magician, and Mitch, another employee, wishes he could sleep with Tammy.
Mitch is Leprechaun’s first victim, and he gets killed when he goes up to have sex with Tammy. When this is happening, Loretta steals the coin, and after it leaves the room, Tammy snaps out of the spell and leaves. Leprechaun then enters and uses magic to turn on the television, where a woman who looks exactly like Tammy chants Mitch’s name. She then comes out of the TV and starts to kiss him. Mitch hears the Leprechaun’s voice on the television, and he looks up. Upon looking back at the woman, she is a sex-bot and electrocutes him to death.
Leprechaun’s next victim is Loretta. You can see her wishing for her twenty-year-old body back, and it becomes a reality. When the Leprechaun confronts her in Fazio’s dressing room, she tells him that she no longer possesses the coin. In turn, he inflates her breasts, lips, and butt to massive proportions and when she hysterically tries to escape, her inflated butt becomes wedged to the door. The doorframe then splinters, which causes Loretta to explode.
Fazio’s death came last and was the worst of all. During his show, the Leprechaun shows up, and everyone thinks he is part of the performance. The crowd cheered and pleaded for the greatest magic trick—getting cut in half using a chainsaw. Only this time, the Leprechaun had a real chainsaw and intended to cut Fazio in half. Fazio knew that Leprechaun would kill him and wished that he would be at Caesar’s palace, but it doesn’t work, and the Leprechaun informs him that he already used his only wish. The audience screams in fear when they see the blood and gore surrounding Fazio’s death.
The Movie’s Ending
In the end, Scott burns Leprechaun’s gold, which ignites the Leprechaun in flames and turns Scott back to his regular body. Overall, the film is surprisingly entertaining, and what the Leprechaun lacks in horror, it atones for with humor which makes his violence strike that much harder. This movie inspired the themes of popular Leprechaun casino games like Lucky Leprechaun that you can play in American online slot casinos.
