Interview: Venice Revive (Written)

Venice Revive is a symphonic metalcore solo project that released the full-length album,’Future Paradise’ in 2024. In this interview we get to know them a little better.

1. Hello! Thank you for taking the time to chat with us. First things first, tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started.

Hey! Thank YOU for your interest in my project.

I started playing guitar at the age of 16 only to play the songs I love, with time I noticed I create pretty nice riffs and it just took off from there, a couple of years later and I’m at the top of the national rock chart.

2. Someone comes to you and asks you to sum up what kind of music you play – what do you tell them?

I’m fusing elements from all stages of metalcore throughout it’s time, with great addition of symphonic elements.

3. What’s currently keeping you busy? A new album/EP/single release? A new video? Playing live, or planning ahead?

I’m writing a couple of covers I want to release before I release my next full length album, multiple great things are in the works simultaneously.

4. What is about this current period that is particularly exciting for you?

My music is finally getting some recognition, I see the number of monthly listeners on Spotify constantly growing, I hope it never stops.

5. Tell me about the work that has gone into making it a reality and what it means to you.

I tried creating a band multiple times in the past, but ultimately I decided to go my own way, stopped waiting for people to contribute and put in all the work myself.

Honestly I like it much better this way, I don’t depend on anyone and make the music I think is great, I believe I do a pretty good job at it too.

So to answer your question, there aren’t any magic tricks, just putting time at home to write and record, and suddenly there’s a full album out there.

6. Making music and being creative can be a very positive experience and can be very good for the mind. In what way has making music had a positive impact on your mental health?

My album tells the story of how I dealt with the loss of my father, expressing my feelings with the words and notes I chose.. It really helps me calm my mind down.

I also hope it helps everyone else who had to suffer any kind of loss. I make music to help people, I want it to be a positive experience for the listeners too.

7. It can also be incredibly challenging, more so in the modern times. What have been some challenging aspects of making music and how have you overcome them?

Money. It’s always about the money.

Writing music alone also means you cover all the expenses yourself, I believe all the recording sessions, time spent with producers, mixing and mastering, and of course you can’t forget promoting the songs after they’re released.. The album was released less than a year ago and I believe I already spent more than 25 thousand dollars on it.

Is it worth it? Absolutely.

8. How do you handle the online aspects of being in a band? Having to put out content constantly, promoting across several different social media platforms, and having your success measured in likes and follows?

It’s definitely the most mentally draining thing I have to do.

I refuse to do all the stupid TikTok trends, I find it embarrassing, I try to think of sincere posts to share, it doesn’t have the same impact but selling out to intelligent TikTok videos is worse.

My music is great, I’ll get my fame without TikTok.

9. How do you make this part of things enjoyable, and fulfilling, for yourself?

I increase my audience, that’s what’s fulfilling.

10. Speaking directly to listeners – what would you ask they do to help support you?

Just listen to my music. Spread it around and I hope your friends will like it too!

11. Outside of music, what do you like to do to relax?

Gaming! I’ve been gaming ever since I was 6 and I don’t plan to ever stop. It’s my escape, it’s my mental cure.

12. Where can people find you?

Almost everywhere! Venice Revive is on all streaming platforms and almost all social media sites.

Here’s my Linktree.
