Interview: Oli Rainsford (Vocals/Bass) of Krooked Tongue (Video/Audio)

‘Nothing Ever Grows’ is the new single from Bristol rock trio Krooked Tongue, released September 6th, 2024. It follows 2023’s second studio EP ‘Deathproof’ which has been streamed over 320,000 times to date.

In addition, August 2024 saw their biggest support tour to date, supporting Kid Brunswick on his final ‘Dead Forever’ tour across the UK. They’ve also recently shared the stage with False Heads, Virgin Marys, Phoxjaw, Pulled Apart by Horses and Mother Vulture and have played slots at festivals such as Icebreaker, Dot to Dot, The Godney Gathering, Estonia’s Tallinn Music Week and Burn It Down.

‘Nothing Ever Grows’ was recorded and produced with long-time producer Josh Gallop at Stage 2 Studios in Bath, a brooding number which serves to highlight the importance of a positive mental attitude.

In October, Krooked Tongue will be back on the road with a short stint around the UK playing headlines shows on the following dates and venues:

October 9th – 229 The Venue, London
October 10th – Tiny Rebel, Cardiff
October 11th – Bear’s Bar, Bournemouth
October 12th – Green Door Store, Brighton
October 13th – Rough Trade, Bristol

Vocalist and bassist Oli Rainsford found the time in his busy schedule to speak with us about the new single. Where we looked at it in context of the wider Krooked Tongue picture and dove into future plans and directions for the band. We also talked about the upcoming tour, and much more.
