1. Hello! Thank you for taking the time to chat to us. First things first, tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started.

Thanks for having us. Here’s a bit of our story. We are almost 3 years old now. The foundations of Frequency Overload began with guitarist Corey Schaefer and drummer Kevin Daily, who share a history in metal. Corey’s time in bands like Uncle Jack, Nothing Sacred, Kryonix, Misery, and Misery Kills led to a solid foundation in guitar and songwriting, which also led to support slots for Devildriver and Kittie.

Kevin honed his percussion roots by jamming to Metallica’s Kill ‘Em All when he was 14. Later, a run in Akalamathesia and tenure in Long Island’s iconic Exit Verona led to reigning strong in the Hard Rock scene to include shows at the legendary B.B. King venue in NYC. With a new metal venture in mind, Corey set out to round out a lineup. Self-proclaimed “Chokalist” Mr. Bush stepped into the vocal spotlight, no stranger to the experience as the frontman of Social Disease, Ironlung, Evileye, Welt, and Pummel, and former labelmate of Dominus-era Michael Poulsen on Progress Records.

Steve Little completed the lineup as an experienced bassist of 30 years, playing in Cobalt 60, Intogreen, Image Within, and Ionize. The unfortunate loss of a bandmate led Steve to step away from music for some time, but Frequency Overload was just the right project to bring him back on the scene.

2. Someone comes to you and asks you to sum up what kind of music you play – what do you tell them?

That’s tough! FREQUENCY OVERLOAD is heavy metal. I always just say heavy metal. We have been called genreless metal. Our bio writer said “a hard tinged reinvention of crossover thrash.” We have a lot of influences in all of us that present themselves like they are peeking from behind a curtain. We feel that we have something for all metal heads.

3. What’s currently going on in your camp? New releases? Tours? Etc.

Currently in the FREQUENCY OVERLOAD camp, we are supporting the release of our debut album FATE ANTHROPIC, on SODEH RECORDS, and recording album #2! Tracking has begun and we are very much looking forward to pre production assistance and ideas from SODEH. We are also in the process of shooting a video for NOT I, from the FATE ANTHROPIC album. Currently we are in talks with promoters for a few 2025 Metal Festivals.

4. What has been the most positive experience of making music to date for you?

The joy of accomplishment is an esteem building activity, but I find the spiritual relief, and therapeutic aspects just as important. There really is almost an extended spiritual/mental orgasm after a good performance…the energy transfer from listener to band and back is transcendent.

5. Likewise, what has been some of the more challenging aspects and how have you overcome them?

Money is always the challenge. The cost of things, in my humble opinion, is staggering. The very confines that we have been bullied and indoctrinated into accepting are mangling hope and happiness. Without the therapy of metal, I personally, would be hunting politicians.

6. How do you handle the modern expectations of being in a band? Always online, having to put out content constantly, your success measured in likes and follows?

We handle it by doing as much as possible. Our moto, “don’t do….over do!” At the end of the day we try our best to constantly stay active and promote our brand. We have created spokes model named GRAND PAPPI DECIBEL, who adds to the foray of posts, blogs, etc.

7. What’s something that really ‘grinds your gears’ about the industry/business these days and what would you propose is done to combat it?

Well I probably speak for all artists when I say getting paid a fair buck for spins. It’s well known that streaming services are getting rich off the backs of artists, and the artist gets a half penny. I know congress is even looking at it, but most likely they will fill their own pockets somehow. The best combat for that thievery is to sell merch and direct downloads. You MUST be on the streaming services, so it’s a catch doubly deuce.

8. Speaking directly to listeners – what would you ask they do to help support your music?

We ask our listeners to follow us on ALL platforms and to please order our cd, or download it from our website. In this way we can get some money saved in the band fund for recording, festival entry fees, buy ons, etc.

9. Outside of the music, what do you do to relax?

Well our bassist Steve Little is an avid hunter, Corey Schaefer on guitar enjoys his family get aways and sports, Kevin Daily, on drums, is constantly on the move and going to events of every nature. Mr. Bush our “chokalist” enjoys unwinding by driving the FREQUENCY OVERLOAD hearse around dressed as Grand Pappi Decibel.

10. Where can people find you?
