Interview: Asger Mygind (Vocals/Guitar) of VOLA (Video/Audio)

VOLA, the Danish-Swedish progressive metal quartet will release their new studio album ‘Friend of a Phantom,’ on November 1st, 2024, via Mascot Records.

The new album arrives three years after the release of their defining album, ‘Witness’, and sees the group continue to showcase their innovative approach to progressive metal. Aiming to captivate audiences with their blend of intense rhythmic complexity and poignant lyrical narratives.

Alongside the release of the new album, VOLA’s headline ‘Friend of a Phantom’ European tour will begin on November 1st, 2024. In the UK they will be playing London (Heaven) on 22nd November and then Nottingham (Rescue Rooms), Glasgow (G2), Manchester (Club Academy) and ending in Bristol (SWX) on 26th November.

We spoke to vocalist and guitarist, Asger Mygind about this tour and what it means to come back to the UK. We also dive into the new album, talking about how VOLA got to this stage, embracing their own individual progression as well as the bands, dealing with unexpected challenges, enjoying the process, and so much more.
