1. Hello! Thank you for taking the time to chat to us. First things first, tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started.

Hello, Desi here from AMoV (A Moment of Violence) I am the leader, lead guitarist, chief songwriter, producer, and engineer for the band. I am long time (25+ yrs) musician and studio engineer/producer. I am originally from NY. However, about six years ago my family and I decided to make a move to South Florida. AMoV was started by me and Scotty Eriksen (drums). He also from NY, had moved to Florida and we ended up meeting one another on a men’s softball team. It was nearly six months later, before we knew each other played music. It just so happens that we both dig heavy music quite a bit and decided to form a band. We hit social media very hard as an attempt at finding the rest of the squad. Brent (guitars) came next. Followed by Xcean, (Alex, Screaming/heavy vocals), Russ (clean vocals) and finally Hatchet (bass guitar).

2. Someone comes to you and asks you to sum up what kind of music you play – what do you tell them?

I say that we are a (Nu) metalcore group that has a super diverse, individualized background from each of our guys, and that we will write music in many facets. We’re very big fans of creating not only a song but yet a unique listening experience. Similar to what you’d find in a blockbuster movie for instance. You will hear each of our individual roots in our songs ranging from classic rock to NuMetal and everything in between.

3. What’s currently going on in your camp? New releases? Tours? Etc.

We recently released our first single “Stone Cold Killer” with our new label partner “Wake Up! Music Rocks!”. This track was written specifically for a professional BKFC (bare knuckle) fighter and features a very raw and heavy side of the band. We also just finished recording our next single. This one is very much a great representation of our band and what we can do. The next single “My Endless Nightmare” will be out right after the holidays. So stay tuned and watch for what we do next!

4. What has been the most positive experience of making music to date for you?

For me personally, I love to be in the studio and creating. That’s my happy place. Being able to hear your creation come to life is one of the most self rewarding experiences in my opinion. I truly love it.

5. Likewise, what has been some of the more challenging aspects and how have you overcome them?

I’d say that as a leader of the band, it happens to be very much a “thankless” job. Managing the personalities of six people is quite challenging. But the solution is to remain super focused and organized and provide as much visibility as possible to keep everyone on the same page.

6. How do you handle the modern expectations of being in a band? Always online, having to put out content constantly, your success measured in likes and follows?

We definitely handle it well. I primarily post on the socials and try to stay visible everywhere I can. It can get a little overwhelming to have new a fresh content all of the time. But we manage it well and the world seems to take to our prescience greatly.

7. What’s something that really ‘grinds your gears’ about the industry/business these days and what would you propose is done to combat it?

I’m actually a fan of the way things are done nowadays. It gives creatives the opportunity to get in front of audiences like never before. I mean, I’m sure we all wish that royalty payouts were larger. But it is what it is unfortunately.

8. Speaking directly to listeners – what would you ask they do to help support your music?

I’d simply ask that they follow, stream, and share all of our music and content as much as humanly possible as we’re in direct pursuit of the moon, and need their help with the journey! And if you’re feeling extra generous please pick up something from our merch catalogue.

9. Outside of the music, what do you do to relax?

The ideal relax time for me is just hanging with my family. Possibly near a beach somewhere with a tropical cocktail or two.

10. Where can people find you?
