Horror Short Review: Theres a Man in The House (2025)
From writer and director Eric Elliott, comes Theres a Man in The House. A horror short that stars Avalon Power James and Luke Wheaton.
Daisy is housesitting for her grandparents, alone, and bored. What’s a young woman to do this scenario? Put on a podcast, Unsolved Murders Explored and fall asleep to the sweet sounds of horrific crimes being retold. Specifically, one that details the murder of a 10-year-old-girl.
Waking up, it’s now night and as Daisy gets herself off to bed properly, she continues to enjoy the sounds of mayhem via the podcast. All of this done with noise-cancelling headphones on. Which is why she probably never heard the man coming into the house. The reveal is exceptionally creepy.
It such a strong short, and the final minute is some of the tensest horror you’ll ever see. Quality storytelling, quality filmmaking, and quality acting. All combining to give us a quality film. This is a must see short.
