Horror Short Review: The Front Door (2018)
Lock your front door before you go to bed or you never know who may enter…
The Front Door is a horror comedy from writer and director Andrew Rutter. It stars Brad Ash, Chris Butler, Daniel Lipton, Joanna Caldwell, Iona Crampton and Danny Estreich.
A couple are settling down in bed to sleep when the question is asked; did you lock the front door? Up gets the man who finds that he didn’t, so does. Unfortunately, it’s too little too late as he turns around to find a group of people in his living room. A group of people who are midway through a virgin sacrifice.
Oh, the horror. That is until one of the cultists tells the man not to worry, they’ll only be a few minutes and to go back to bed. It’s hilariously delivered, especially as the ominous music is interrupted for the line delivery. British dry-humour and wit that has a touch of Monty Python and Terry Pratchett about it.
From there? It just gets funnier and funnier, weirder and weirder. The cast are phenomenal and deliver the absurdity of this short with gusto and glee. You don’t want this one spoiled for you. Check it out below, it’s well worth it and remember to lock your front door.
