Horror Short Review: Smiling Woman 5 (2021)

The 5th Smiling Woman short, we pick up at the hospital location of the last and continue the story there. Now in the body of Angela the nurse (Felissa Rose), the smiling woman torments a pair of unfortunate victims. A nurse working late (Jessi Sampogna) and a patient (Katy Ford).

We’ve been complaining of diminishing results in this series while still enjoying the creepy atmosphere they create. Sadly, Smiling Woman 5 is the least satisfying of the series so far. A shame as the first was very good. Its sequel also delivered and the 3rd had some of the creepiest shots of the series. The end of that one was where it felt like things were getting tired and that continued into the 4th.

There’s nothing to get excited about here. The smiling woman grins and watches from afar while sending her text messages to scare her victims. Felissa Rose makes a great smiling woman, one of the best since the original but once again we just don’t move things along enough.

There’s no doubt we’re going to get even more sequels and all we can hope now is that we get some sort of fresh idea as things are finally getting stale. If you can be bothered, you can check it out below.
