Horror Short Review: Serbian Dancing Lady 5 (2024)

The Serbian Dancing Lady is back as ACMofficial continues to dredge this particular well to the point of drying up completely. The sixth entry in the series (even though this is numbered 5, we can’t forget about Serbian Dancing Lady Pool) sticks to type.

Creator Alex Magaña has found a way to at least make it feel like this series of shorts is moving forward though. With the Serbian Dancing Lady’s videos in the story taking the internet by storm and racking up millions of views.

Not everybody has seen them though, and because of that, not everyone knows the rules. Which is the case for Chelsea (Lauren Quinn) who gets the ire of the ‘entity’ when she decides to record her dancing in the street. As always, Cat Hamm plays the role in frightening fashion, and we get to see a bit more energy from her here.

Alas, there’s nothing notable about this latest entry and it plays out in humdrum fashion, albeit with something that confuses the lore created up to this point. You see, the rules are that you don’t film her dancing and you must apologise for watching her. Fail to follow these rules and she will chase and kill you. So… why does she kill the musician sitting on the bench?

This series of shorts is well and truly played out, and even though the concept was never that scary to begin with, this latest entry is incredibly lacklustre in that department.
