Horror Short Review: Serbian Dancing Lady 4 (2024)
From Alex Magaña and ACMofficial comes the fourth entry in the Serbian Dancing Lady horror short series. A series that started off so-so and hasn’t managed to deliver anything memorable to date.
Will Serbian Dancing Lady 4 change that? It begins in interesting fashion as two woman, Amanda (Dominique Vianney) and Katelyn (Suzannah Samuel) are in the street attempting to recreate the legend for a video.
Their fun is interrupted by a homeless woman (Ashley BeLoat – chewing the scenery in epic fashion) who warns them to not mock the Serbian Dancing Lady (Cat Hamm). Which, of course, Amanda and Katelyn laugh off. After all, it’s just a silly story, right?
This is the best one yet, as it finally does something a bit different with the concept, and with that, delivers something more fun and more frightening. Here, the melding of two worlds works better. Namely legends told across time, and a world obsessed with filming everything for likes and follows.
It’s still not a great horror short, and follows the overly familiar ACMofficial formula, but it’s entertaining. Which is rarely the case with this particular series of horror shorts. Heck, it’s worth watching for Ashley BeLoat channelling her best ‘stay out of the woods’ 80s character with the line deliver of “you’ve been warned”.
