Horror Short Review: Serbian Dancing Lady 3 (2023)

Churning these sequels out thick and fast, ACMofficial continue their Serbian Dancing Lady series with Serbian Dancing Lady 3, and to the surprise of no-one, the returns on this series are already diminishing.

Bridget Blanche and Roberto Jose Melgar are a couple walking down a street after having seen a movie. In a carbon copy of the first in this series, there is music playing over a loudspeaker on the street, and suddenly the song is replaced by the familiar Dancing Lady tune.

Of course, shortly after, they sees the titular villain (played again by Cat Hamm) dancing in the street and of course, the boyfriend pulls out his phone to record her. This is a big ‘no-no’ for the Serbian Dancing Lady, pulling out her knife, and giving chase.

In a surprise turn, all of this happens in the first minute of the short. Meaning more time is given to the chase and what happens after the couple failed to get permission to watch her dance. The problem is that it’s not particularly good and it still fails to expand on the lore.

Heck, it’s still not really clear what the supernatural abilities of the Serbian Dancing Lady are. She chases with a knife like a slasher villain, but she can disappear and reappear in an instant, and manipulate technology to play the song.

This just feels like more of the same… again, and it’s impossible to not draw parallels to ACMofficial’s other long-running series, Smiling Woman. Here’s hoping that if there are more entries in Serbian Dancing Lady, they at least get a little more imaginative.
