Horror Short Review: Hawk Tuah (2024)

It is a line immortalised in modern pop culture, even as the person responsible for it sees that her ‘five minutes of fame’ is pretty much up. In a few months, it will be another ‘moment in time’ (it might already be) but until then, we have creators like Alexanderthetitan helping keep it in the limelight. All thanks to an absurd horror short called Hawk Tuah.
Starring Nicoletta Hanssen, Michael Cunningham, and Abigayle Hunt, Hawk Tuah is centred around a man returning to his car in a multi-story car park texting his partner, hoping for a little bit of that ‘hawk tuah’. As he goes to get in his car, he hears and sees a woman excitedly shouting out the infamous words, seemingly on her own.
His response?
Come over here then, girl.
Which is enough to her attention. This is the kind of ‘hawk tuah’ he will wish he never asked for. Death by snu snu? Close enough and you can watch the silliness yourself, below.
