Horror Short Review: Do Not Call (2022)

A regular guest in our horror short viewing; writer and director Alex Magaña brings us a super-short horror called Do Not Call.

Two young girls (Jesse – Olivia Rand and Taylor – Xianna Moreno) are playing truth or dare. Taylor dares Jesse to call ‘the murder nanny’. This is complimented by a convenient crash of lightning… how very horror movie. Jesse isn’t aware of the murder nanny so asks the question and is told by Taylor to call and find out. So she does, even though she thinks it is dumb.

The number you have dialled is not a working number.

Of course, that’s not it. You have to call it three times. So, she does and on the third time of trying? Someone answers.

What to find out what happens next? Just check it out yourself below. Be warned, it’s a horror short that is a little cheesy, but in a fun way. It ticks all the boxes for tropes but lacks creepy vibes or a killer ending. It’s so short though, it hardly matters and, as always, has such high production value that help make up for its short comings.
