Horror Short Review: Disposable (2025)

Written & directed by James Malcolm, Disposable tells a very simple story, one about a woman who finds a disposable camera while moving into her new home.

Starring Annie-Rose Tate and Gavin Pettifor, what is fun and adventurous at first, takes on a more sinister form. A disposable camera should hold memories, but this one holds something horrifying.

A strong horror short that takes a very simple idea and transforms it into something really terrifying. The story is well told, the acting is top notch, and the scares are solid, but it’s the building dread that makes it so effective. From the moment the lead character picks up the camera, you know bad things are in store. Yet, it just keeps ramping up, leading to an ‘edge of your seat’ finale.
