Horror Short Review: Catch Your Breath (2022)

Writer, producer and director Matt Sears delivers a breathless horror short experience with Catch Your Breath. A short that stars Samson Oliver, Toby Oliver, and Renee Sears.

Have you heard of the legend of ‘The Lady Beneath’? Siblings Andrew and Mike sure have, and the latter dares the former to play a game that is said to summon her. It’s just an urban myth though, right? Just like Bloody Mary.

Andrew isn’t so sure about playing the game but the possibility of a girl he likes hearing about what he did, is enough to convince him to give it a go. After all, even if the ghost was to appear, the legend says that as long as you hold your breath for one minute, she will disappear. Simple.

Heavy on ghostly atmosphere with an interesting adaption of a familiar urban myth. Catch Your Breath serves up some nice chills and some nice thrills. A good cast sell the dread well, the scares are impressive, and its shot in such a way that you will feel as though your right there with Andrew too.

Don’t be surprised if you find yourself holding your breath when that second candle goes out.
