On Christmas Eve, Mighty Music bring a cult cassette EP from 1995 back to life. For the first time ever on vinyl and with a remastered sound, melo-death band, Withering Surface’s Unique EP is coming. It will be available on vinyl in 300 copies on 3 different vinyl colours (100 copies of each vinyl colour).

The importance of Withering Surface on the metal scene can’t be understated. One of, if not the first, melo-death bands in the Danish scene. Only a year of the creation of the band, they put out this EP – effectively a demo and now, Mighty Music breathes new life into it.

Four tracks of black-infused death metal with early melo-death touches, Unique has lost none of its potent power or rawness. It’s savage but so layered, it’s so listenable while also challenging, it’s unique for its time.

Amazingly, the band is still going, having taken a 15-year break between 2005 and 2020. They released the album ‘Meet Your Maker’ in 2020 but it’s amazing to go back to where it all started. More than just fan service, this is a chance for those unfamiliar with their early days to get to know them better. It just so happens to be in a quality remastered way.
