EP Review: Void of Vision – Chronicles II: Heaven (UNFD)
Chronicles II: Heaven is the second of the series of EPs from Void of Vision, a band that combines elements of digital-hardcore, metal and electro to create an intense listen. It is set to be released on the 29th of April 2022 via UNFD.
The explosivity of Void of Vision’s sound is front and centre as the band kick into Berghain. Delivering a durable and heavyweight offering that features a powerful and soaring chorus. The raw chaotic expulsions around it are what really stand out though and the breakdown is disgusting.
Dominatrix is a great example of the eclectic style that Void of Vision employee. A track that combines drum and bass beats, intense electronica and unbridled, bristling hardcore heaviness. Saint Miserable is stompy and snappy savagery that, once again, has a massive sounding clean chorus and showcases the modern mentality that Void of Vision have. Before Into the Dark gets weird, gets chunky and gets downright chaotic.
This impressive EP then wrapped up with Altar, a beastly blast that just happens to feature the immeasurable vocal talents of Creeper’s Hannah Greenwood. The combination of her clean and powerful voice with Void of Vision’s excessive electro-heaviness makes this one of the highlights.
It’s an EP of highlights though. One that continues to prove that Void of Vision are something pretty special.
