EP Review: The Human Race Is Filth – Liberate (Self Released)
THRIF – The Human Race is Filth are a duo from York, Pennsylvania. Their debut EP ‘Human Exposed’ was released last December independently, and this EP titled ‘Liberate’ containing 8 pulverising, doomy, grindcore tracks will be released on April 6th 2018.
The sludgy, doomy and grindcore sound that The Human Race is Filth vomits out comes at a pace likely to make many a listener shift uneasily in their seat. Liberate is 8 tracks but clocking in at around about 15 minutes long.
It’s a vile & aggressive piece of work but one that sounds like the band are throwing their all into and thriving on it. From the opener salutation of hate (Native Biological Warfare) to the sounds of hope failing with the grinding nastiness of Concrete Soldier, there is no absolution from The Human Race is Filth.
For all its in your face ferocity, there are moments where the fire doesn’t burn as brightly as it should. Burning the Swines has the stomach for a circle pit but none of the stamina and the lengthy (by their standards) Slow March fails to hit the mark.
