EP Review: Stages of Decomposition – Crawl Space Burial (Gore House Productions)

The opening speech regarding the fame that comes with serial killing doesn’t quite prepare you for the guttural mess that follows.

This 4 track EP is light on content but filled to the brim with aggression. It’s a brutal assault on your ears in the same style as bands like Cannibal Corpse. On first listen it’s easy to dismiss this as a poor imitation but after several listens it becomes clear that Stages of Decomposition have a bit more rhythm, a bit more flash to their music.

The brutally-heavy Killing Under Possession & Crawl Space Burial really showcase this. It’s not music to get excited about & if you’re not already a fan of this guttural, sensory abusive style it’s not gonna change your mind. However it’s short enough that it has much more staying power.
