EP Review: Spyder Byte – The Taste Of Filth (Self Released)

The eight-legged sleaze machine from the south, Spyder Byte, return with a real slice of filth. Their latest outing, The Taste of Filth EP, is comprised of four songs dragged up from the gutter and the EP will be released on September 8th, 2023.

Known for their high-powered and energetic songs, as well as their live performances, The Taste of Filth is uninhibited Spyder Byte rock and roll fun. From the moment it kicks off with Front of the Pack, the groove is there and it compels the listener to get up and move.

A request that is hard to ignore when you take into account just how anthemic it, and the following Hooked are. Here, Spyder Byte remind listeners that they have some really sleazy riffs, infectious hooks, and imposing vocals to offer.

Hard rock head-banging is the name of the game with Crash 22, Spyder Byte compelling the body to move. Before wrapping the EP up with Home is Where the Heart Don’t Hurt. A track that has high octane energy and a massive melodic chorus. One of the most anthemic tracks of all. Although, few could claim the entire EP doesn’t deliver on that front overall.
