EP Review: Shiny Daggers – Devil Inside (Emanzipation Productions)

Blistering skies above the majestic landscapes in a cloud of misty woods, Shiny Daggers enter the unholy world of Nordic metal. Fire souls, darkness unite, as the devil inside unlocks lurking spirits in a fascination of sexual lust and strangulation. The Devil Inside 12” vinyl EP will be released on March 19th, 2021 via Emanzipation Productions. Red-swirl vinyl 12”, limited to 100 hand-numbered copies.

A ferocious blackened metal mugging, Shiny Daggers blazes with hellish fire and oozes the iciness of the Nordic scene. Two tracks, seven minutes long, it is a short and sharp jab to the temple. Shiny Daggers poking and prodding away with vibrancy and furious intent.

Of the two, it is the latter track (Master Killer) that is a tad more enjoyable, thanks to a kick-ass pace and touch of catchiness. The vocals repeating “devil inside’ in their throaty and twisted way is very evil sounding.

A cool release.
