EP Review: Ossario – Ossario (Self Released)

Spitting out putrid black metal from Sicily, Ossario released their self-titled 4 track debut EP on June 5th 2020.

Putrid, rotten, decaying, foul, unpleasant… there are many different ways to describe Ossario’s black metal sound. All of them summing up the vehement mugging that this band dishes out.

The old-school horror that they accomplish with varying levels of repugnance is far more memorable than you might expect. Especially as Ossario are very much a ‘no frills’ kind of band. However, that serves them well as they have the talent to spew out a constant flurry of hysterical riffs, thrashing drums and bass, and a howling set of vocals.

That they seem to be enjoying themselves certainly doesn’t do it any harm either. The mouth-watering glee they exude from their evil effort is tremendously enjoyable.

Ossario – Ossario Full Track Listing:

1. We’re All Born To Die
2. Millennial Fears
3. Torment Sweet Torment
4. Rigor Mortis Boner (Necromance)
