EP Review: No Life On Earth – Nothing Is Real (Blood Blast)
No Life on Earth are a USA/Brazil based metal band that started during the COVID-19 quarantine with the collaboration of Alan Wallace of Eminence and Jay Arriaga from Scattered Storm. From there PJ from pop super group Jota Quest joined on bass and Andre Acosta on vocals from Hereafter The Wave. Together they decided to write an EP called Nothing Is Real.
Each song features solos from Andreas Kisser (Sepultura), Cesar Soto (Ministry), Hector Camarena (Hereafter the Wave) & producer Tue Madsen.
The EP will be released on October 30th 2020 via Blood Blast.
The Brazilian influences are prominent from the start with Into Fire We Burn and you can’t say it doesn’t sound familiar. However, the bassy thickness, frantic verses and clean singing segments begin to really take shape and No Life on Earth start to sound like their own thing quickly enough.
The frantic start is backed up with the urgency and kick-ass beat of The Gravity, the low-sung chorus is class. Nothing is Real is the EP’s most unique offerings, dealing in melodrama and crushing head-banging moments. Before Time is Blind wraps things up in furiously meaty style. Watch out for a killer guitar solo finish too!
