EP Review: Mothman and The Thunderbirds vs World Eaters – Split EP (Self Released)
Prepare for mayhem this Halloween, as Mothman and The Thunderbirds and World Eaters go head-to-head on a new split EP. The showdown is scheduled for October 28th, 2022.
Let battle commence! Although, we’re all winners here. Winners because this EP features four tracks from two bands on creative highs. The EP kicking off with a grin-inducing amount of infectiousness, Mothman and The Thunderbirds bringing the riffs and delivering a groovy, wacky and thrilling head-banger. One that features no end of heavy intensity but is notably catchy as all hell.
That track is complimented by Nephilim and sees Mothman and The Thunderbirds go heavy. Very heavy. A track that is not quite the complete opposite of the previous one but certainly stands out for different reasons. Faster, more chaotic and rawer, it’s a frantic blast of fury (the riffs are gold) and mightily enjoyable.
Up next, it’s time for some death metal as World Eaters’ deliver a raw harshness that is certainly eye-opening. Flash of Green hits like a tidal wave, drowning the senses in a miasma of guttural growls and instrumental fury. Before The Siege lays down some darkness with moodier riffs before opening fire on the mind with a barrage of doomy sounding bleakness.
Two great bands, four banger tracks, a battle that sets the world on fire, we’re all winners here.
