EP Review: The Lead – Again (Roxx Records)

Christian Punk legends The Lead have returned with a brand new 4 track EP entitled Again which is scheduled to be released via Roxx Records on February 23rd 2018. All 3 original members, Julio Rey, Nina Llopis, Rob Christie, have reunited to record and release this very special limited edition EP.

A punk-rock heavy start begins things interestingly as the other-worldly vocals, up-tempo beat and haunting vibe of Dressed in a Robe (Rev. 19) impresses.

The World Tomorrow/Adoration keeps things sounding trippy with a raw edge to the drumming & guitars all while screeching effects surround everything. A seriously catchy tune.

Again may be a short EP but it really leaves an impression with the amount of variety in each track. The second half sees Every Fear Forgiven really up the heaviness stakes without compromising the catchy punk edge that The Lead have. While Heaven is Waiting is wonderfully sombre thanks to the bass talents of Steve Rowe (Mortification).

A brilliant piece of work.
