EP Review: Ingested – Stinking Cesspool of Liquefied Human Remnants (Unique Leader)
Kings of British death metal Ingested will re-release their debut EP ‘Stinking Cesspool of Liquefied Human Remnants’ remixed and mastered on January 15th 2021 via Unique Leader.
Deleted before the release of debut album Surpassing the boundaries of Human Suffering, the EP features the original recordings of songs which later made it to the full-length. Recorded just five months after the band formed in May 2006, this EP release marks the band’s 15-year anniversary.
Not content with dominating the death metal world in 2020 with their excellent latest full-length ‘Where Only Gods May Tread’, Ingested get 2021 started in brutal fashion. A re-release of their debut EP, where 5 tracks of the most putrid and foul death metal has been given new life to cause insane bouts of expulsion.
This is early Ingested and brings with it a certain level of rawness that bleeds through even the remixed/remastered versions of these tracks. It’s not as though the band has ‘chilled’ since this release, but you can certainly hear just how much they have grown since.
At around 16 minutes long, it’s a furious blast of noise dripping in evil and abusive intent. A slice of Ingested history for the long-term fan, a great entry point for those looking for something to wreck their necks to.
