EP Review: Halflives – Inferno (Self Released)
With the biggest year of their career so far under their belts in 2022, including huge tours and almost 10 million streams on Spotify alone and their latest single ‘Everything Sucks’ proving another huge success, Halflives will release their brand-new EP, ‘Inferno,’ on June 30th 2023.
Having now fully transformed into the solo project of Linda Battilani, Halflives both begins afresh and continues to build upon the immense success achieved so far. Inferno features a slew of singles that have been slowly released over the last year, alongside one new track.
First up it’s the alt-rock and pop-infused catchiness of Dynamite, a sing-along through and through. Then it’s something more heartfelt and honest sounding with sorry mom x. A track with lyrical content will resonate with many people from many different walks of life. Followed by the explosive energy of everybody knows it, a sure-fire dance-floor anthem. Before EVERYTHING SUCKS gets a little ‘in your face,’ albeit still heavily from a pop-orientated angle.
Finally, it’s the new track Oblivion, and here Halflives goes for melody over everything else. It’s an extremely dramatic sounding song that showcases the impressive vocals of Battilani.
If you’ve been all in on Halflives to date, and so many people have been, Inferno won’t change that. The rise of Linda Battilani is going to continue as Halflives momentum continues to increase.
