EP Review: Goat Semen – Fuck Christ (Hells Headbangers)

South American black/death band, Goat Semen will release their brand-new EP, ‘Fuck Christ’ on July 26th, 2024, via Hells Headbangers on CD, 12″ vinyl, and cassette tape formats.

With a name like Goat Semen and an EP title like Fuck Christ, you kind of have to be brutal, noisy and furious sounding. Which are just three words that sum up the sound of this band and their devilish new EP. Five tracks long and featuring five classic, yet bastardised, blackened death metal efforts, Goat Semen make no apologies for their untamed and unflinchingly chaotic ways.

It’s the epitome of hatful and horrible noise, the kind that puts a big grin of the faces of demons and devils, and the kind that has those of a religious nature praying to any god that will listen. There is no mercy to be found here though and be it in short or long form (both are available here), Goat Semen punish the mind, body, and soul.

Of course, this is music for an acquired taste, and likely only to be enjoyed by those who enjoy feasting on the putrid, coagulated remains of Goat Semen’s victims. There’s nothing accessible here, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t enjoyable, because it is. Goat Semen are extremely adept at delivering this sound and the EP is short enough to not overstay its welcome.
