EP Review: Glanville – First Blood (Fat&Holy Records)
Hailing mostly from Darmstadt in Germany, heavy metal band, Glanville will release their debut EP ‘First Blood’ EP May 4th 2018 via Fat&Holy Records on CD, LP and digital.
Opening with a heavy statement of intent, God is Dead gives off a familiar old-school metal vibe. Not just with the rhythm & vocals but with the raw sounding but still crystal clear production job.
God is Dead is an excellent start that has plenty of metal hooks to dig away at your fleshy parts, Dancing on Fire brings a thumping bit of bass along with the same high quality metal beat before Durga the Great drops the best chorus of the entire EP.
Within three tracks, Glanville have confirmed themselves as a very exciting prospect in metal. They’re far from finished though as Demons goes an extra step with a slower tempo that has a more ritualistic tone and Time to Go ends things in sleazy old-school style.
