EP Review: Fortunes – Eternal Hustle (GoodJunkie Records)
Coming out of San Antonio, Texas is heavy hardcore band, Fortunes and their brand-new EP, Eternal Hustle. Out on May 15th 2020 via GoodJunkie Records.
It is utter chaos from the very start with War Cloud. Fortunes literally erupting with incandescent rage. Super intense, super heavy and super angry, it’s a wild ride of hardcore noise exemplified by a bone-crushing breakdown.
Although the chaotic expulsion is far from limited to the first track as Sink or Swim follows suit but with these jagged guitar lines. Before Southern Hustle’s damning rhythm conjures up a sweaty mass of seething bodies as Fortunes encourages utter obliteration in their contemptable way.
The delinquencies are far from over though as Money, Happiness and Power makes a very barbed point and Reality Check batters the senses with some of the heaviest guitars and drums heard so far.
Its fury almost abated, for now at least, Worthless wraps up a banging hardcore EP. One that shows there is plenty of life in the scene yet!
