EP Review: Extinction A.D. – Chaos, Collision, Carnage & Propaganda (Unique Leader Records)
Chaos, Collusion, Carnage & Propaganda is Extinction A.D.’s first release on Unique Leader, and the first new music from the band since 2018’s full-length Decimation Treaty. It will be released on November 5th, 2021.
On the new EP, they comment:
While the music world stood still throughout the COVID lockdown, the real world moved on in so many crazy ways and that’s what spawned this EP. People showed their true colours, both corporate and authoritarian powers exerted more control, lives were lost, brains were softened and both tension and anger mounted. That gave us an ever more visceral sound than ever on Chaos, Collusion, Carnage and Propaganda.
Serving to remind people that they still exist and that they’re still hammering as hard as possible, Extinction A.D. bring the thrash… hard. Three new tracks that erupt with vehement rage on the aptly titled Chaos. A track that comes in at 1:42 and doesn’t slow down for even a second. It’s startling brilliance.
A little bit longer, but just as furious, Collusion has a little bit more groove but is head-banging wildness yet again. There’s no arguing with this level of ‘in your face’ intensity. Just enjoy the rampant ferocity. Especially as it is ever present on the last original track, Carnage. Here though, we get a more detailed effort that even includes frenetic guitar soloing.
Need more? Extinction A.D. have a cover for you to sink your teeth into. A thumping and kick-ass version of Sepultura’s Propaganda.
