Christmas Horror Short Review: Cookie Cutter (2023)
From director Sydnee Ackiss comes a delightfully wicked festive horror short that puts so many other shorts to shame. Impeccably shot, impressively directed, well-acted, with strong festive vibes, and no small amount of ‘tongue in cheek’ horror, this is the cream of festive horror shorts.
The story? It’s about a gingerbread cookie coming to life and seeking revenge on its creator. Having watched its friends being scoffed down with hideous glee, it has had enough. For the baker and her boyfriend, this is not going to be a happy Christmas.
A fabulous example of creativity and talent, Cookie Cutter is entertaining from beginning to end. Embracing the season, injecting a degree of silliness into things, but making sure that horror is still at the forefront. It’s a must-see horror short, and you can check it out below.
