It says a lot about the interest in Iress that the Black Heart, on a hot Sunday evening in London, is as busy as it is. A lot of people have turned out for the dream metal band, as well as the two support acts, Healthyliving and Sunnata.
One word can sum up Calva Louise and that word is anthemic. Yet, this comes from their incredible ability to be infectiously groovy, daringly rocky, scathingly heavy, and effectively danceable.
On a sunny Sunday Kentish Town prepares itself for an onslaught of Bodycount fans, all coming for one reason. Bodycount feat. the legendary ICE T at The Forum – also featuring Slope on support.
It’s a night of boundary-pushing music, indefinable heaviness, and genre-bending intensity. Singaporean grindcore legends Wormrot are in London, they have Morne and Harrowed with them, and The Underworld is full of fans ready to lose their minds to some seriously heavy music.
EartH (Evolutionary Arts Hackney), a multi-arts space, isn’t the first venue that comes to mind when thinking of a night of blackened metal. Yet, darkness has fallen over Dalston in London as the mighty Wolves in the Throne Room have arrived, with support coming from the vibrant Gaerea and the moody Mortiferum.
Modern Error deserves a full showcase, and Defects more than delivered on what the experience of hearing it live, should be.
