There are a lot of bands on the bill, and some you may not be that familiar with, which is where we come in. As is our yearly custom, we will be running features on many of the bands playing, aiming to give you some insight into who they are, what they do, and why they are a must see at the festival.

Kraken Waker

As hotly contested as every other Metal 2 the Masses around the country (and beyond), the Newcastle events were hard-fought this year and emerging as winners this time was Kraken Waker.

How and why? Well, ask anyone who has witnessed them live and they’ll tell you that all they remember from the sonic blast that was Kraken Waker is the riffs, and what riffs they are. Bringing forth a loud and groovy sound that combines elements of rock, stoner, punk, and metal, they’ve built up a strong reputation as a live band across the north of England.

Do you like songs about beards? Songs about beer? Songs about being skint? Of course you do, who doesn’t! Kraken Waker have what you need with songs likes Loan Shark Business Park, Wah Boot, Born with a Beard, Space Bastard, and Be Good, Get Good or Give Up. Some of the songs that Bloodstock attendees can look forward to hearing come the festival.

It doesn’t end there though as the trio have plenty of shows planned following the festival and are on route to releasing their debut album. It’s all looking bright for Kraken Waker, so grab a beer and mosey over to the New Blood stage on the Friday of the festival for some head banging fun. Don’t take our word for it though, we spoke to Kraken Waker about what it means to play Bloodstock 2024, what the festival means overall, and what attendees can expect from their show.

We are chuffed to be playing the New Blood stage this year. Bloodstock is one of the best festivals around and we are looking forward to making some new friends and introducing Kraken Waker’s music to a wider audience.
