There are a lot of bands on the bill, and some you may not be that familiar with, which is where we come in. As is our yearly custom, we will be running features on many of the bands playing, aiming to give you some insight into who they are, what they do, and why they are a must see at the festival.

Hellbearer

You can never have too much thrash metal, and Bloodstock is often desperately in need of more thrashy injections. There are a few bands around the 2024 edition of the festival, and one of which is Manchester’s Hellbearer.

Winning the hotly contested Manchester Metal 2 the Masses this year to earn their spot at the festival. A massive achievement itself, but one that can be considered even more impressive when you realise Hellbearer have only been around since 2022.

That’s not a lot of time to establish yourself, but Hellbearer hit the ground running, releasing their debut single, ‘Thrash Without Boundaries’ in 2022, before quickly writing and releasing their impressive head-banging inducing debut album, ‘For Those About to Bear Hell’ in 2023. It’s thrash at its very finest, and you can smell the denim from the moment the album starts.

Hellbearer have built up a solid reputation for a live show that can be summed up as; sweaty, heavy, and thrashy. Something they will be bringing with aplomb to Bloodstock this year, alongside their brand-new single ‘Absolution’.

The Saturday of the festival is the chance to bang your head until it hurts on the New Blood stage with Hellbearer. Don’t take our word for it though, we spoke to Hellbearer about what it means to play Bloodstock 2024, what the festival means overall, and what attendees can expect from their show.

It’s an honour and quite frankly a dream come true to play Bloodstock, we’ve been attending the festival as fans for years and to have the chance to perform is just so surreal. Fans can expect a killer half hour performance filled with mosh pits, crowd surfing and just pure thrash!
