There are a lot of bands on the bill, and some you may not be that familiar with, which is where we come in. As is our yearly custom, we will be running features on many of the bands playing, aiming to give you some insight into who they are, what they do, and why they are a must see at the festival.

Disposable

For 15 years, Scottish four-piece band Disposable have been delivering the hottest and heaviest of thrash metal. Starting life as a band at a very young age, it didn’t take long for Disposable to garner attention, and alongside the frenetic live shows, they released their debut EP, ‘The Disposable’ in 2011.

An attention-grabbing release, it was the starting gun for Disposable to become one of the most beloved Scottish metal bands in the scene. A race that saw their thrash sound evolve as the band matured and found ways to push the traditional aspects of the genre in new directions. As well as polishing up their live shows to the point where they felt more like a band 20 years into a career.

Over the next decade, they built up their reputation and dropped several new studio releases that included the debut full-length album, ‘At the Foot of the World’ in 2014, the sophomore album, ‘Suffocator’ in 2019, the ‘Life Misguided’ EP in 2016, and most recently, the ‘Self Dismantling Process’ EP in 2023.

Putting it simply, Disposable never stop working hard and having fun, something that has continued into 2024, which has already proven to be a busy year for the band. Not just on the live front, but in the studio too as the third album is on its way soon. Until then though, it’s big events like Bloodstock and it’s almost silly that they’ve not ended up at the festival already.

Still, that changes this year and on the Friday of the festival over on the New Blood stage, heads will be banged hard when Disposable arrive. Don’t take our word for it though. We spoke to Disposable about what it means to play Bloodstock 2024, what the festival means overall, and what attendees can expect from their show.

Bloodstock is one of the first names that comes up when talking about the biggest and best metal events in the UK. At its core, Bloodstock is a grassroots event, which is really cool to us. It feels like something we can really relate to, so it’s very exciting for us to know it’s our time to give it a go. It’s always a great time and is highly regarded up in Scotland, with a mass exodus of metal fans attending every year. We’re excited to get lively on stage as we always endeavour to do no matter the setting. We play fast, we play heavy and we have a lot of fun doing it. A lot of effort and emotion goes into the band from our end, but it’s all about it culminating in entertainment for metal fans – and ourselves!
