There are a lot of bands on the bill, and some you may not be that familiar with, which is where we come in. As is our yearly custom, we will be running features on many of the bands playing, aiming to give you some insight into who they are, what they do, and why they are a must see at the festival.

Crowgod

The calibre of the bands across all the MT2M events this year was, once again, so impressive, and one such series of events was extremely hard-fought. We’re talking about the Kent M2TM events and that Crowgod emerged victorious speaks volumes about their live show and abilities to deliver a rousing set. All through the medium of heavy-doom and sludge with an ethereal and beautiful touch.

Not bad for a band whose first EP ‘Graveyard Planet’ was only released in 2021. Of course, Crowgod have spent a ton of time perfecting their sound and delivering an unforgettable live show. You won’t struggle to find a litany of people who have seen this band play live and loved every minute of it.

Since the debut EP in 2021, it might have all been about performing live but that hasn’t meant Crowgod didn’t have some studio tunes to offer. Putting out Shepherd/Birdcage (Remaster), an acoustic version of their beloved track, Graveyard Planet, and most recently, Patterns in Colours. When Crowgod say ‘tune low and stay crow’, they mean it.

Playing Bloodstock is a big deal for them, of course, but it’s not the culmination of their journey, rather the next step. Evident by their plans later in the year which includes The Northern Invocation Tour. Still, until then, it’s time to get excited about Crowgod at Bloodstock 2024. Hitting the New Blood stage on the Sunday of the festival, we spoke to Crowgod about what it means to play Bloodstock 2024, what the festival means overall, and what attendees can expect from their show.

Psyched to be playing this year on a bill alongside Opeth, Igorrr, Architects… Man, our little baby band wouldn’t have imagined this one year ago. Groovy sludge with an unhinged attitude is what we deliver & we can’t wait to vibe at one of the UK’s best metal fests!
